First DVD Burner not in a computer...

Thats not entirely true. Apparently TiVo's are basically PC's running Linux. My new "PC" has an 80 gig disk, runs the Linux 2.4 Kernel, and has a DVD-R/RW burner. A little expensive, but I like it.

In fact, I like it better than my ReplayTV, well so far anyway. Its a snappier interface (responsiveness and aesthetics). It has a better remote. The burn to DVD is great, and it lets you poke it more (initiate Dial to Service on demand, etc...)

I don't like its program guide (Its designed with the notion that you will not channel surf anymore after recording a few programs). And until I found the easter egg for the 30-second skip, I preferred that about the ReplayTV.

I got the Pioneer DVR-810-HS from DataVision for much less than MSRP.
