Smart Home Gadgets...

The iCEBOX FlipScreen seems like the perfect under the cabinet broadband enabled device, but why does it have to cost so much and what is the difference between FlipScreen and FlipScreen 03?

So if you were replacing a 10 year old gas hot water heater, would you consider replacing it with an Tankless Hot Water heater? It looks like they might be more efficient and have a longer life time, but you give up flow rate (how many hot water consumers simultaneously: showers, washer, dishwasher, faucets). Maybe these aren't designed for New England...

Whats the best choice for home security system monitoring? Big national company or local company?

Our condo association charges us for water once or twice a year... Do I have to pay for water now?

If I can reach all the lights do I really need X10 devices all over the place? I'd consider getting Child Proof Outlet Plates (they seem easier than the inserts, but holy crap they are expensive).

Reading the comment from the woman who rated the kid proof outlets, I'd say they ticked her off enough to MAKE the comment in the first place. I wouldn't spend the $$. ...and yes we pay for water quarterly...and a sewer tax.

"I like how the outlet is instantly covered when the plug is pulled out. The thing I dislike is that it doesn't hold the plug in tightly. When I vaccuum, the plugs falls out. I would recommend this outlet cover for an outlet that isn't going to be in much use.
