Yahoo Companion Update
So many people I know use the Yahoo! Companion Toolbar. Recently they had an update that I was prompted and agreed to install. At first nothing seemed obvious in the update. After a slightly closer examination, I noticed that it was much better integrated into the Internet Explorer Toolbars "infrastructure" where it hadn't been for some inexplicable reason.
The reason I point this out, is that it is nice to see someone invest the time/resources to do that last 10%, ignoring the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it..." mentality and striving to do that last bit of detail. Of course there are some easy to imagine enhancements I'd like to see, as well as a Mozilla Version!

Writing about Stuff
So its funny that when I'm on vacation, I am able to post notes every (at least other) day, and when at home its a dry spell. I'm not sure why that is. Probably because I feel that the stuff at home is mundane. Which, ironically, probably isn't any more mundane than my vacation stories... Its all relative.
Anyway, I've been getting back into the swing of things at work. I kept on top of my email pretty well, but its hard to ignore the face time that is often required.
This time of year is filled with Performance Reviews, Compensation Adjustments, and taking the opportunity to step back and refocus the organization. I've spent some time talking to people in my "group" and reiterating my "management philosophy" for whatever thats worth. The strange balance between whats real, whats not, and perception management is very difficult.
Anyway, I have bunch of reviews to prepare for next week, and I'm nervous about the amount of time I've spent. I think that its not new thoughts for the reviewees, but rather just a summary of dicussions we've already had. At least, I hope so.

Home Again
Returning home on a Saturday has the distinct benefit of allowing an extra day of "decompression." We are definitely taking advantage of that today. Last Night, Morgan and Nora brought us home and made us a fairly tasty Shrimp Scampi from a Box (CostCo style). Then we followed up the meal with Cinnabon Express "To Go". Yummmm....
This morning has been a very nice day with Lori, Maura and I. Maura continues to suprise us with mimicing and new tricks (she started climbing onto my back today: piggyback rides can't be too far away).

On Our Way Home
Packing, Breakfast, Check the flights, arrange for pickup (Morgan?) and get it together. I've heard the plane home from Orlando can be a little rough (kids don't like to leave Mickey).
Anyhow, yesterday we enjoyed Blizzard Beach and even Maura enjoyed riding a waterslide by herself!. (See Mom, we could have gone to Wet and Wild when Morgan was 2!).
All and all, it was a fun trip (a different kind of relaxation, but not bad!) Now, its time to go back to work and finish up the year end stuff!!

Another Entry
So I've been getting grief from friends/coworkers for logging in during the day while I'm on "vacation." There are a few points that many might not understand:
- This is relaxing for me.
- Maura is napping and someone needs to be in the room.
- I like sharing my Pictures and Fun with everyone.
- Reading and responding to some of the work emails keeps me from having to go through a gazillion when I return.
- I'm a dork.
Anyway, Happy Birthday to my Mother-in-law, Jean. Here are some pictures from her camera.
Enjoy the fund.

Disney/MGM Studio
So the big hit today was the Playhouse Disney Live Show with the Bear in the Big Blue House doing the Bear Cha-Cha-Chaaa!
Pictures found at KnipSter Gallery! (and meet Maura's new friend, Tina, from our Oktoberfest Celebration!)

Disney World
So we arrived on Saturday at the Boardwalk Villas at Disney World. The plane trips went pretty smooth (landing at Orlando was a little rough on Maura). US Airways was very helpful to us with stroller, car seat and baby. Yesterday we visited the Magic Kingdom, and today we visited Animal Kingdom. I've uploaded so photos to KnipSter Gallery. Its amazing how much a 16-month old slows the pace at the parks. Lori and I had visited a couple of years ago and made great time. Its been a little slower this time, of course with her brother and parents we have 5 adults to help out (and its still exhausting). Even though she won't remember it, I'm sure she is enjoying herself.
