3 More Days
So apparently my father-in-law has taught my daughter to blow her nose. Not with a tissue mind you, just the blowing part. Clearly the Vermont Heritage predisposes her to a skilled "farmer's blow." It's funny: the whole "absence makes the heart grow fonder" concept. The petty things fade away and the positive experiences are what one relishes.
I was driving home from picking up McDonald's this evening thinking about how Maura will hug me around the neck, or hug my leg. Just then, I passed a man pushing his son in a stroller. He seem frustrated with the squirming unsatisfied boy. I thought to myself that a day or two of absence and he would look back on that walk fondly.
Something makes me think this is the kind of thinking that helps us understand what's really important.
-ps. I did make it to the party last night... I kept myself hydrated and avoided the hangover... And even won a few games of pong (apparently some call the game "Beirut"). And there was something about "Gold Bond Powder"

ummm...she ought to at least confine that farmer's blow to the shower as her father/uncle did. G'auntie Lisa would appreciate that.

Maura and I miss you lots too! I swear she was saying "Da!" while I was looking at this site. By the way, we've perfected the nose blow slightly. If you say, "Blow" and hold a tissue over her nose, she'll blow. Of course, she's still doing the "farmer" method.

I was thinking as I was mowing the lawn that Great-Grampa Wheeler would certainly approve of farmer blowing......he was the master down in his garden.
